2020 Holiday Schedule - Residential Collection
In preparation for the 2020-2021 holidays, we wanted to reach out to let you know of our holiday schedule. Below, you will find a complete schedule for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years:
Thanksgiving: In observance of Thanksgiving Day our offices will be closed and no services will be provided on Thursday, November 26th. Thursday's regularly-scheduled services will instead be provided on Saturday, November 28th.
Christmasand New Year's Day: In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day our offices will be closed and no services will be provided on Friday, December 25th and Friday, January 1st.Friday's services will resume on your next regularly-scheduled pickup day.
Christmas Tree Collection: Christmas trees will be collected the first two weeks in January. All trees should be placed on the curb with all tinsel/decorations removed. Trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
Effective November 11, 2019, Patriot Disposal will no longer pick up glass as part of recycling. Customers are encouraged to re-use glass containers, bring them to a purple bin located in Fairfax County, Alexandria, Arlington, and Prince William County, or put them in with the regular trash for pickup.

PATRIOT RECYCLE TOTERS: All residents may decline
delivery of the larger recycling toters/bins by contacting Patriot at 703-257-7100 to arrange for a pickup. For those keeping the new toters, please note
that they are for recycling only on the Wednesday pick up day. If
you prefer, you may use your own toter/bin for putting out recycling on Wednesdays. Thank you

NOTE ABOUT YARD WASTE: When discarding yard waste, please make sure that it is placed in plastic bags or personal bins are clearly marked as YARD WASTE or it will not be picked up. It is preferred that Burke Centre residences put yard waste out only in biodegradable or paper bags, or, in a receptacle.
Note: If Fairfax County changes its requirements, plastic bags may no longer be accepted in the future for yard waste disposal. The weight must be less than 50 lbs. Thank you for your cooperation!BULK ITEM PICK UP (Mattresses/Small Furniture/Etc.): May be put out with regular trash collection. No rocks, concrete, dirt, liquids or other hazardous material.
The Board of Trustees and Conservancy Staff wish to thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through the issues with the previous vendor, and your continued patience as we adjust to the new schedule. The contract does not include Burke Centre Station, Chase Commons, Oakwood Commons, Walden Commons, Summit Oak and Crevenna Oaks. Trash service in these areas is provided by their individual management companies. As always, if you have any concerns, please contact the Conservancy office at 703-978-2928.
