Assessment & Budget Information

The Burke Centre Conservancy assessments are billed on a quarterly basis and mailed to a lockbox in Norcross, GA. Bills must be paid on time in order to avoid a late fee.

At its November 2008 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the Conservancy budget for Fiscal Year 2010, which began on January 1, 2010 and will end on December 31, 2010.

Beginning in 2010, the General Assessment will be $121.00 per quarter. Statements will be sent to you the first week of January 2010, April 2010, July 2010 and October 2010. To avoid a late fee, payments must be received no later than January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31, 2010.

These statements will also include cluster assessments where applicable. The cluster assessment, presented as applicable in a letter that was mailed to every home owner in Burke Centre, will vary based on the services provided to your cluster and the level of funding for your various cluster reserve funds. Click here to access the FY10 cluster assessments, which are paid in addition to the general assessment shown above where applicable.

The cost of trash collection is a direct pass-through and will be split again between attached and detached homes. American Disposal Service (ADS) will pick up your trash, recyclables and yard waste.

The Burke Centre Conservancy has been granted federal income tax exemption under Section 501(a) by the Internal Revenue Service. However, assessments paid to the Conservancy are not tax-deductible as donations under Section 170 (c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please consult your tax advisor for details.

If you have any questions about your individual assessment, please do not hesitate to contact the Finance Department at 703-978-2928. Please note that homes located within most clusters pay additional fees above the general assessment for enhanced services. These rates vary based on services requested by individual clusters and the level of funding for each cluster's reserve funds.
