The
unique appeal of this center lies in its history. The original home
dates back to the eighteenth century. Several prominent families lived
here including the Ward, Coffer and Hall families, and at one time, it
was used for entertaining by a Washington lobbyist.
In
renovating the house for its use as a community center, much
consideration was given to its practical function as well as its
lovelier appointments of a bygone era. The building features front porch
columns and richly grained hardwood floors.
